The Backstory This Week

This Saturday on the UWTV/Channel 27 film series, Backstory: The Filmmaker’s Vision, local filmmaker and previous NWFF Local Sightings participant Rustin Thompson’s feature film, The Ends of the Earth, screens at 9pm (with additional showings throughout the following week).  This DIY, one-man experimental doc-fiction hybrid is a cerebral sci-fi contemplation of global warming, time travel, and filmmaking itself.  Moviemaker magazine publisher/editor Tim Rhys had this to say about The Ends of the Earth:

“I was incredibly impressed.  From the larger issues it touched on down to the imaginative high-tech gadgetry, the incredible sound design and, most of all, the surprisingly emotional themes, this film packs a neat little indie punch.  It deserves to be seen.”

The Ends of the Earth, written, directed, shot and edited by Rustin Thompson, is also available on the Seattle-based distribution site, Indieflix.
